What is your favourite sneaker memory?

My favourite sneaker memory would have to be last year, when Offspring invited me to create art for their first 'Off-Air' event in Seven Dials, London. Having my artwork recognised and featured by such a prominent community platform was an unreal experience. What made it even more special was the fact that they saw my work as worthy of inclusion in their event, which was an amazing feeling. As a through and through Air Max 1 head, being a part of an occasion that celebrated the Air Max, its history, and its significance in sneaker culture was incredible. I loved meeting other community members there and sharing our passion for sneakers. The event was definitely a turning point for me as a creative within the UK sneaker scene.

What is your 'Grail' sneaker and why?

My grail sneaker has always been the 2003 Air Max 1 Viotech. I love the mixture of neutral tones complemented by the vibrant purple, and for me, it epitomises the remarkable relationship between Atmos and Nike, setting the benchmark for their releases.

Where do you live and what is 'Sneaker Culture' like there?

I live in the South East, about half an hour from Brighton. The Brighton sneaker scene isn't huge but it's growing for sure, we're lucky to have great stores like OGKicks and Size? who do a lot for the sneaker culture round here. I'm lucky to live in an area where it is also super quick and pretty cheap to get to London, so it's nice to be able to easily access the scene there too!

What does community mean to you?

To me, community is about support, inclusion, collaboration and most importantly connecting people with a shared passion or enthusiasm for something. We are nothing without those around us and the potential for creativity that I have seen within the sneaker community is crazy. I have been so lucky over the past year or so to speak to so many amazing people that I have met purely through the UK sneaker community and I have worked on projects that I never would have without it. I feel like there are plenty of people in the scene that use the word 'community' as a means of self gratification but to me it goes deeper than sneakers and fit pics. It's about creating something meaningful that resonates and allows people to have a sense of belonging.

What do you enjoy aside sneakers?

Honestly art is my bag, I feel like all my interests kind of come from there. I pretty much spend all my free time illustrating, coming up with designs, and just picking up new creative stuff on my own. Music's huge for me too – I love old school hip hop, grime, and drum and bass. I feel like it vibes with my love for sneaker culture because they all sort of blend together in the world of streetwear.
